Melody Heidel joined the CCU staff in 2016 but has been a part of the CCU family ever since her parents joined the church and she attended adjacent Seagull School preschool (during its early years, with “Captain” Chuck Larson as her teacher).
Melody’s love for music was fostered at CCU where she learned to sing and read music in the Children’s Choir and performed in musical productions under Director Camille Almy.
Melody enjoys helping to create the musical experience at Vespers using the skills and musical connections she’s fostered over the years. She is a former member of the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble and currently sings in two bands: Two Shades of Blue (jazz/blues duo) and Good Foot (8-piece funk/soul/afrobeat band).
She also moonlights in her day job with Hawaii Homesharing Network, and formerly worked as an archaeologist, legislative staffer, and conservation worker.
She loves the ocean, plants, and all creatures great and small.
